As someone who has gone through her own mental health journey, I find what I once thought was a disadvantage, an empowering quality for connecting with others. Through professional support, journaling, movement, connection, keeping note of coping mechanisms that work for me and a daily effort towards self-care, I am able to balance my mental health while supporting others. This is not to say I will completely understand what you’ve been through, no one will ever have that whole experience but you. However, I would greatly appreciate it if I could walk by your side as we go through this healing journey together.

My area of expertise surrounds children (ages 3-6), youth/adolescents and young adults under the age of 30. I have previous work experience as a behavioural interventionist, child and youth worker, mental health worker and youth support worker. These work experiences provided me with the stepping stones toward my career as a counsellor.

I take pride in my client-centred focus, adjusting what is needed of me depending on which lovely individual I see. As well as focusing on an individual’s strengths, because that is what carried someone up until this point and will continue to do so. Furthermore, I have experience working with clients who have depression, anxiety, trauma, autism, and psychosis. I come from a culturally competent lens as a person of colour and would love to explore how culture can be part of your healing process. It would be an honour to work as a team and help you achieve your goals. I can’t wait to meet you!
